MEMBER SPOTLIGHT: RAJ GOODMAN ANAND

Member’s Spotlight is something that the EO APAC Bridge Marcomms team has wanted to do for a long time. When we look at the roster of members or meet them at events, we constantly walk away going, “Wow, that person is impressive.” We’ve been thinking about the best way to highlight them, and we hope these interviews give you a glimpse of how accomplished, courageous, driven, and most of all, how real they are. To add a novel dimension to this, we also generated the questions off ChatGPT, with a very detailed prompt. Come say hi to this member if you see them at an upcoming event or retreat, and most of all, enjoy the read!

There are many interesting aspects of content marketing, especially within the technology industries. Some of the most interesting aspects include:

  • The constantly evolving nature of these industries, with new trends and developments emerging all the time. This means that there is always something new and exciting to learn about and explore.

Is there something about yourself today that the teenage you would have been surprised by? What is it?
I would have told myself as a teenager to take more risks, do more experiments, seek more opportunities to work under others in order to learn quicker, have a better vision of the world, and think of money as the bi-product of success rather than the main focus.

What are your hobbies/what do you do on weekends?
My hobbies include running, cycling, and playing padel (tennis). I also enjoy watching documentaries, particularly on Netflix, and spending time with my two-year-old. In addition, I am an avid listener of business podcasts, with my current favorite being "My First Million," which focuses on business growth within the technology industry. I also enjoy meeting up with friends for dinners

What do you tell yourself on a bad day?
"I will get through this." To remind myself that difficult times are temporary and that things will get better.

"I am strong and capable." Remembering that I have the strength and ability to overcome challenges and adversity.

"I have control over my thoughts and actions." Reminding myself that I have the power to choose my thoughts and actions, and to take positive steps towards feeling better.

What’s next on your bucket list to do or visit?
In the next few months, I have a lot of travel planned for both personal and business reasons. This includes trips to Nepal, Spain, South Africa, and Japan. I am looking forward to experiencing new cultures, meeting new people, and learning more about the world. I am also excited to see how these trips will help me grow personally and professionally.
It will be a busy few months, but I am confident that the experiences and opportunities that I will gain from these travels will be well worth it.

Is there someone, real or fictional, alive or dead, that you’d like to share a meal with, and why?
I would like to meet Sherlock Holmes because I am a fan of the character and his incredible intellect and problem-solving skills. I would be fascinated to learn more about his thought process and how he approaches challenges.

I would like to meet Felix Dennis because he was a successful publisher and entrepreneur. I would be interested in learning more about his career and experiences in the publishing industry and getting his insights on business and success.

Are you an introvert or extrovert? Homebody or merrymaker? Spontaneous or planned?
I used to be an introvert, but I have worked on becoming more outgoing and confident over time. These days, I consider myself to be an extrovert and a true "merrymaker." I enjoy socializing and being around other people, and I am always up for a good time. At the same time, I am also a very planned and organized person. I like to have a clear sense of what I want to accomplish and how I am going to achieve it, which I believe is a result of my strategic mindset.

What was your best or favourite subject in school?

At school, my two favorite subjects were mathematics and computer science. I have always been interested in these subjects and enjoyed learning more about them. I found that mathematics was a subject that challenged me and helped me to develop my problem-solving skills, while computer science was a subject that allowed me to explore my curiosity and creativity. Both of these subjects have played a significant role in my education and have influenced my career path. I continue to enjoy learning more about these subjects and exploring their applications in the real world.
